MarketMakers and Really B2B celebrate a win at the B2B Marketing Awards
It’s one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year for B2B marketing, and this year MarketMakers and Really B2B were particularly excited to attend the B2B Marketing Awards.
We were thrilled to find out earlier this year that we had been shortlisted in the categories of ‘Best SME-targeted campaign’ for our work with our client Zipcar, the world’s largest car club network and B2B marketing communications agency of the year.
Launched in 2005, the B2B Marketing Awards are now one of the biggest in the B2B marketing calendar. Designed to recognise excellence in the field of B2B marketing, the awards reflect businesses of all sizes from across the UK. Previous winners include Google, Microsoft, Barclays, Siemens, British Gas, Grant Thornton and TalkTalk.
In 2014, Really B2B and MarketMakers were winners of ‘Best use of content marketing’ and ‘Best SME-targeted campaign’ for our work with Miele Professional.
Held this year at the HAC in London on the evening of the 19th November, a team from Really B2B, MarketMakers and Zipcar travelled up to find out if we were going to repeat the success of last year.
We were up against some strong competition from fellow nominees including Mastercard, Atos, Virgin Media Business, UPS, Earnest and OgilvyOne DNX.
Compere for the evening was comedienne Katherine Ryan, who kept the audience highly entertained throughout the night. Our awards were some of the last of the evening so we had a nervous wait to see if we were going to be taking a trophy back to the office.
After watching winners including RS Components, Man Bites Dog and Momentum ABM, it was our turn to find out our fate. The runner up in our category for Best SME-targeted campaign was announced as ‘Small is the new big’ by Mastercard, could we do it again for the second year running? Yes! We did it! ‘Let’s do business’ for Zipcar by Really B2B and MarketMakers was announced as the winner!
We were slightly disappointed to not be also taking home the agency of the year accolade, but we’ll be back next year for that one, watch this space!
